AMS Teacher Workshop Presenter Application

AMS 94th Annual Meeting - Atlanta, GA

Workshop Date: Saturday, February 1, 2014

Application Deadline: Friday, August 30, 2013

The American Meteorological Society promotes the development and dissemination of information and education on the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences and the advancement of their professional applications. The American Meteorological Society’s Teacher Workshop exists to present the best educational resources, scientific tools, and research in the atmospheric and related sciences to teachers. Its primary purpose is to promote relevant STEM learning and an awareness of AMS, its services, and its leadership in the field.

Workshop Audience:  4th-9th Grade educators from the Atlanta, Georgia metro area primarily, along with other interested educators from other states attending the conference. Those applying to present within the workshop itself will receive a block of time approximately 1 - 2 hours, depending on the content, in which to present resources and conduct hands-on lessons.

What is the share-a-thon option?  Over the lunch period, we will host a variety of organizations simultanously that will share their educational resources and activities.  Workshop attendees are free to browse the various offerings and engage in a variety of STEM activities pertinent to AMS and the Annual Meeting's theme.  Individuals and/or organizations can choose to apply to only the workshop, only the share-a-thon, or both.
